I like to refer to our days as “structured with flexibility”. As we all know some days can take longer than others to get from one activity to another. I keep an open mind and heart to this while trying to stay on schedule.
I also believe it is important to keep children fed regularly with healthy, energy filled food. This helps keep their minds and bodies functioning, and limits meltdowns and frustrations.
Proper sleep at night and naps during the day are equally important to a child’s development.
I offer the following at my day care:
- Mother Goose Preschool Program, sign language, Spanish and more…
- Free play, allowing children to make their own choices
- Dramatic play, encouraging imagination
- Daily story time
- Daily outdoor activity (weather permiting)
- Sensory Activities; sand, water, gardening, play dough etc.
- Physical Activities; dancing, parachute play, yoga, exercise
- Music
- No TV! Although we’ll do a movie day some times.

My home is a very safe environment for children of all ages, and has a huge, fenced-in back yard with fun playground sets. It has had extensive fire and home inspections required by Hennepin County. The children and I practice monthly fire and storm drills.
I try to keep everything clean and tidy. We pick up toys together and children help with set up and clear off of the table. I believe this helps teach responsibility and gives them a chance to play an equal role in daily activities. I also like to give the older kids a chance to teach the younger ones
I will send emails regarding your child’s day along with monthly newsletter. I will post the weeks menu the Friday before on my website as well.
